I was recently awarded my party wall agreement and have successfully started building my extention. I had to pay for this by law and it was next door who insisted on this award which in turn has cost us just over £1,000. They have not been happy about the proposed building work since day dot and now they keep emailing the party wall surveyer stupid questions. Do I still by law need to pay for this???
The builders also accidentally caught their electric cable which runs under our tar mac on the drive way whilst digging the front foundations which in turn switched their electric off for 2 hours, the builders appologised and called out an engineer straight away and had the problem sorted within this time. They came out screaming at the builders and are now claiming their fridge has broken and they are also emailing the surveyer at my cost to try and get compensation from this???? What are my rights do I have to keep paying this bill just because they have nothing better to do then complain??? Who should have stated that their electric cable run under our drive??
